Fundamental is as a charity with a clear focus on player development aka high level coaches along with a strong emphasis on pitch development too!
Fundamental was born in 2016 with a group of 14 players looking for additional high level coaching. I had previously coached at Mawsley FC and Moulton Magpies and whilst at Mawsley my first community side was ravaged by a so called "Local Academy" resulting in the team folding.
For this reason Fundamental has a core principle of ensuring players remain that their community clubs.
Today we have U5s to U15s with 6 teams playing high level football in the MJPL across the Midlands.
We also have a vibrant GK school in Kettering on Thursday evenings - September to June.
We continue to develop top talents across Northants!
At Fundamental Football we have developed some of the top football talents in Northants with County cup dominance at U11s with local feeder clubs.
Three years back we launched our first U6s and 3 years later Max, Ellis, Kosta, Oskaras and Nevaeh have all gone on to play professional academy football. WELL DONE to all of them and good luck on your journey ahead!
Today we have just launched our new MINIs 4-5 years, so with our record and your child's desire to play, who knows how good they will be in the future if our first U6s are anything to go by?
And the one talent that defines every top player is one where they make mistakes, their parents support them with positive praise and they grow and grow in our environment. Safe to fly high & dream big- that is Fundamental!
HOW CAN I JOIN FUNDAMENTAL?
SEPTEMBER 2024 we are offering a

New beginners class aka Saturday Club for players without a local team or needing extra training to get into a community club.

NEW Mini-Fundas for Reception and Year 1s on Saturday mornings and coming soon in September - Wednesday evenings too!
You can request a trial for Foundation and MJPL teams too and if we are full we can add you to a waiting list too!
Our teams from U10 upwards play their football in the Midlands Junior Premier League (MJPL).
WHY?
In short most of our players are successful locally in Northants and some of the best talents by the time we are through our Foundation years.
Playing football across the Midlands against top semi-pro clubs and other top academies is a stretch for our players and one we embrace as a club too.
REASON:
Development is earned by finding ways to beat better teams and players and this is Fundamental!
FOUNDATION
Starts at U5 with reception and goes through to U9s. We train and develop our players with a focus on quality over quantity with low ratios of coaches to players.
This means we maximise ball time and your child's development in the game.
A new chapter in our coaching begins in 2024 with our Mini-Fundas and Saturday Club for Beginners.
NEW FOR 24-25 Saturday club for beginners / players without a club MINI Fundas - Reception / Year 1 only - Saturdays and Wednesday Year 2 - New Mid-Week Wednesday to add to our Sunday session Ideal for mid level players with teams
